About Athina
I am a professional swimming coach with over 15+ years of experience teaching swimmers of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to advanced swimmers. My journey in swimming began at the age of four in Greece and developed into a competitive swimming career. I later earned a BSc in Physical Education and Sports Science, specialising in Swimming, combining extensive practical experience with a strong academic understanding of swimming technique and physical development. I also hold STA swimming qualifications and have extensive professional experience in swimming teaching and coaching. My coaching approach is positive, structured and highly personalised. Every swimmer has different needs, goals and levels of confidence, so I adapt each lesson accordingly — whether the aim is learning to swim, building water confidence, improving stroke technique, increasing efficiency or developing more advanced swimming skills. I focus on helping swimmers understand their technique, move more efficiently through the water and develop lasting confidence. Seeing my students progress and achieve their individual goals is what continues to motivate me as a coach.

Good swimming is not simply about working harder — it is about moving through the water more efficiently. I pay close attention to body position, breathing, timing, coordination and stroke mechanics. By identifying technical areas that are limiting your swimming, we can work specifically on the changes that will make the greatest difference. Each lesson combines technical feedback, targeted exercises and practical swimming so that improvements can be understood, practised and maintained.
