About Rebekkah
I have been writing and editing professionally for over 10 years, and studying for a BA in Professional Writing and Publishing/Creative Writing in the meantime. In high school I perfected the essay-writing formula, achieving A+ every time. As an editor, I have primarily focused on helping authors to perfect their work, going beyond basic spelling, grammar and syntax to analyze the structure and flow of the writing and giving detailed advice and examples of how to improve the piece.

In all teaching situations I seek to understand the student's strengths and weaknesses and build a tailored approach from there. Typically I am working with a specific project - for example, a novel manuscript - and do a close reading of the work before offering detailed advice for improving the work. In the case of school students, it is a matter of working out what gaps there might be in the student's current understanding of the course material and filling in those gaps with clear, step-by-step information. I aim to make sure that the student has fully understood what I've said before moving on; if there is still some confusion, then I will find another way to explain the concepts.
