I am Lanre Akinbowa. I am passionate and specifically motivated to assist with learning and problem-solving. I want to teach because I believe knowledge is empowering, and I love helping people understand concepts, explore new ideas, and develop skills that will benefit them throughout their lives. Here is my personal approach to private tutoring: Assessment and Goal Setting: I always begin by understanding my student's strengths, weaknesses, and learning objectives. This helps to personalise the teaching plan. I usually want to know questions their interests, preferred learning methods (visual, auditory, kinaesthetic), and long-term goals. Customised Lessons: I develop lesson plans that align with the student’s pace and style. Focus on areas that need improvement while providing opportunities for challenge. Break down complex concepts into smaller, digestible parts. Engagement and Interaction: I ensure that lessons are interactive and engaging, making the student feel comfortable to ask questions and actively participate. Encourage critical thinking and problem-solving. Encouragement and Motivation: Recognise achievements, no matter how small, and offer positive reinforcement. Keeping the student motivated is key to long-term success. Building a Rapport: Develop a supportive, respectful relationship with my student. Establish trust, as students are more likely to learn effectively when they feel comfortable and understood.
