About Calvin

I am a friendly, patient and enthusiastic tutor who enjoys helping people learn, grow in confidence and achieve their potential. Through my experience working with children and young people, I have developed strong communication skills and an understanding that everyone learns differently.

I want to make learning English enjoyable, engaging and accessible, whether you are improving your reading, writing, grammar or comprehension, or preparing for 11+ and 16+ entrance exams. I am also passionate about film criticism and analysis, exploring storytelling, characters, themes and symbolism.

My aim is to create a relaxed, supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas and learning from mistakes. I believe that building confidence is just as important as developing knowledge, and I want every student to feel proud of their progress.

About the lesson

I offer supportive and engaging English lessons tailored to each student's individual needs, helping learners build confidence, improve their skills and achieve their goals. I can help students prepare for 11+ and 16+ entrance exams, develop reading comprehension, strengthen writing skills, improve grammar and expand vocabulary.

I also have a passion for film criticism and can help students explore film analysis, storytelling, character development, themes and symbolism. My approach focuses on making learning interesting, accessible and enjoyable, while encouraging students to think critically and express their ideas clearly.

Whether you are preparing for an important exam, looking to improve your English or developing your analytical skills, I aim to create a positive learning environment where you feel comfortable asking questions, making progress and reaching your full potential.
