About Bethanie

Hi! I'm Bethanie—a UK-qualified teacher with over 7 years’ experience, currently working as an Assistant Head in a British curriculum school here in Dubai. I specialise in Early Years and Key Stage 1, and I absolutely love helping children build confidence and make real progress in their learning. My sessions are relaxed, fun and tailored to suit each child. Whether your little one needs support with phonics, early reading, writing or maths, I use tried-and-tested strategies, a calm approach and lots of encouragement to help them feel successful. About the lesson

As a fully qualified UK Early Years teacher with over 7 years of classroom experience, I specialise in teaching children from FS1 to Year 2, with a strong focus on early literacy, phonics, communication, and maths. I currently work as an Assistant Headteacher in EYFS at a British curriculum school in Dubai, where I lead on early years assessment, curriculum design, and phonics provision. My tutoring sessions are tailored to the individual needs of each child, using a play-based, multi-sensory approach to ensure learning is fun, engaging, and effective. I use a blend of phonics-based strategies (such as Letters and Sounds or Little Wandle), interactive games, hands-on resources, and personalised challenges to build confidence and close learning gaps. Lessons are typically 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the age and concentration level of the child. I always ensure there's a balance between focused instruction and child-led exploration, so children remain motivated and enjoy their learning journey. My tutoring is ideal for: - FS1 and FS2 children preparing for school or developing early reading and maths skills. - Year 1 children needing support with phonics screening or key curriculum concepts. - Year 2 children looking to build fluency, confidence, and close gaps in reading, writing, or maths. - EAL learners who benefit from clear modelling and language-rich teaching.
