My lessons are tailored to each student’s individual needs, whether they are looking to fill gaps in their knowledge, build confidence or prepare for exams. I explain concepts clearly and break more difficult topics down into manageable steps before moving on to guided practice and exam-style questions. I regularly check understanding and adapt my teaching and pace where needed, particularly for students with SEN or different learning needs. My aim is not only to help students improve their results, but also to develop their confidence and become increasingly independent in their learning.

I’m really enjoying my tutor sessions with Sophie and I am really benefiting from them. Sophie goes through things clearly and slowly so I can pick things up and we do exam style questions which are very helpful. I also really enjoy the game at the start of the session to warm up! Really recommend this tutoring.
Sophie is an excellent teacher, she has really boosted my daughter’s confidence & skills whilst making the lessons fun and engaging!! We are continuing another year for sure & are looking forward to Sophie’s support through GCSE’s! Would highly recommend her.
We were recommended Sophie by a friend, and we’re so glad we took their advice! We brought Sophie in specifically to help our Lois prepare for her GCSE maths resit, and from the very first session, she was amazing. Sophie quickly understood where Lois needed support and explained everything in a way that made sense and built her confidence. Her patience, encouragement, and positive approach really helped Lois feel prepared and motivated. Thanks to Sophie’s guidance, Lois went into her resit feeling calm and ready—and passed on her first attempt! We’re so proud of Lois and so grateful to Sophie for making this possible. If you’re looking for a tutor who genuinely cares and goes the extra mile, we couldn’t recommend Sophie highly enough!
