About Raphaella
I am a fully qualified primary school teacher with a decade of hands-on experience teaching across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 in UK classrooms, within schools in London and York. Alongside my 10 years in the classroom, I have six years of specialised 1-to-1 online tutoring experience. This unique combination gives me a complete understanding of the national curriculum and exactly what is expected of children at every stage of their primary education, including key milestones like SATs. I moved to online tutoring because I love the transformative impact of one-to-one learning. Through tutoring, I can dedicate 100% of my time to understanding your child's unique learning style, building their confidence, and helping them find genuine joy in Maths and Literacy.
Over the years, I have successfully guided numerous children through their assessments. I know how to strip away exam anxiety by turning preparation into an achievable, confidence-boosting experience leading to very high results.
When I am not teaching, you will usually find me digging on my allotment, going for bike rides, or spending quality time with my own children.

My online lessons are highly interactive, supportive, and designed to unlock your child’s full potential in Maths and Literacy. Using a state-of-the-art interactive whiteboard, your child will actively write, draw, and solve problems alongside me in real time. I design fully personalised lessons built around your child’s current academic level. I aim to stretch high-achievers with advanced challenges, while gently breaking down tricky concepts to support children who need extra help. I focus heavily on creating a warm, encouraging environment where mistakes are celebrated and explored in order to uncover misconceptions and build confidence. For those working towards SATs assessments, I work with your child to identify their core strengths and find the areas they find challenging. By honing in on those specific topics, I ensure they become confident and prepared for all areas of the assessments. My ultimate goal is to build long-term academic confidence and a genuine enjoyment of school!

Raphaella taught my daughter Tilly maths over the last 2 years of primary school. She was incredibly supportive and managed to always give constructive feedback so that even when Tilly struggled with a concept, Raphaella would patiently tackle it from a few different angles until she understood. She always found ways to celebrate the bits she did get right so that the experience was overwhelmingly positive.
Tilly’s confidence grew so much under Raphaella’s teaching and although it wasn’t the focus, she performed very highly in her SATS, despite being in a group for those at risk of failing earlier in her time at school.
We cannot recommend Raphaella enough!Raphy worked with my son when he was in Year 5 and 6. She was excellent! Supportive, professional, and kind. His confidence in maths grew almost immediately. We liked her so much that she later worked with our daughter too. I would not hesitate to recommend her.
