About Long
I am a software engineer with two years of professional experience in the tech industry. I graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology where I acquired my love and passion for Computer Science. I have been holding lessons about various computer science topics for about 3 years now and have loved doing it ever since. In addition to tutoring, I have mentored several in regards to career development (resumes, cover letters, job applications). Overall, I just enjoy sharing my knowledge to everyone and anyone so we can grow and develop together.

I would characterize my teaching methodology as very interactive. Rather than just throwing out content about a specific concept, I would rather sit down and work through problems with you to gauge your understanding of the concept. Typically, I would assign some sort of "homework" where I ask the student to do some prior research and initial investigation prior to the lesson. That way, we can clarify any questions around the topic at hand before taking a deeper dive. Engagement is key!

I charge a standard rate of $18/hr. The rate may be higher depending on how far I will have to travel to meet with you, this can be discussed. I understand that life happens and sometimes you need to cancel. Please try to cancel 6 hours prior to the scheduled time. Failure to notify me and cancel 6 hours prior to the scheduled time will result in a fee of 1 x your rate.
