About Sophie
I'm a registered veterinarian, and I am currently working in biotechnology, specifically working in vaccine research. This encompasses everything from general lab work, experimental report and protocol writing, and preclinical work. I have also worked in veterinary clinics, as a research assistant at universities, and tutoring into university classes.
I completed my veterinary science degree with first class honours, and last year also completed a graduate certificate in biostatistics. My recent graduation in both degrees gives me an edge - I know first hand what it is like to study at high school or university, and I know how challenging it can be to balance working, studying and life! I believe that the key to successful learning is having fun and not being afraid to ask questions! I've tutored in university level veterinary anatomy classes so I'm familiar with working with all types of people from many backgrounds.
I'm happy to approach a lesson either by giving a mini-lecture on the topic you are struggling with, or if you come prepared with questions you'd like me to answer, but either way I ask you to share with me in advance so I can ensure I have everything I need ready in advance.
I typically feel that 60 minutes is the perfect length for a lesson, but I am also happy to provide 30 minute lessons if you only have a few quick questions you'd like clarified.
