About Rosie
Rosie enjoys a varied musical career as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral player and teacher. She is especially passionate about the integration of music into all communities and enjoys working with organisations such as Hackney Music Service, TiPP (Theatre in Prisons and Probation), SoundUp Arts, The Messengers, Hanson Community Arts and the Benedetti Foundation.
Rosie holds a Masters in Music Performance from The Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
With over seven years of teaching experience, Rosie has developed various teaching methodologies for all ages and abilities. She teaches privately and in educational settings, as well as being chosen to lead masterclasses and workshops around the UK. Rosie loves sharing her love of music with others and is passionate about helping to discover individual passions and strengths alongside her students. She strives for a combination of fun, challenge and connection through teaching - developing well rounded, happy, kind musicians and people.
As a performer, Rosie has toured in venues across the UK and internationally including Wigmore Hall, Netherlands, Italy, Czech Republic, Vienna, Belgium and has appeared as a soloist performing Haydn’s Cello Concerto in C and Tchaikovsky Nocturne with the Oasby Music Group under Natalia Luis-Bassa and Alex Laing in 2018 and 2019.
Rosie is a member of The Larisa Piano Trio, an award-winning chamber group performing regularly across the UK and internationally. Formed in 2016 at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, all three members have since moved to London where they are now based. They have had many competitive successes as holders of the prestigious St James's Prize, the Christopher Rowland Chamber Music Ensemble of the Year Award and the Weil Prize amongst others. They were recently invited to take part in residencies in the Netherlands and Italy as part of the Orlando and Residart festivals respectively and were subsequently invited back the following year for the '22 season. The trio has appeared at renowned festivals such as the Leeds International Chamber Festival, Festival dei Giovani musicisti europei di Mondovì, RNCM Chamber Music Festival and Lake Summer Music, and performed in venues including Wigmore Hall, Teatro Pergolesi in Jesi, Italy, Buxton Pavilion and St James's Piccadilly.
A keen promoter of new music, Rosie has performed with the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group as part of the NEXT scheme in Birmingham Symphony Hall, BSO and the Birmingham Conservatoire. In 2022 she was selected to perform Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time with the BCMG as part of the Edinburgh Fringe at St Johns Church. She has also worked alongside New Music Norfolk performing compositions dedicated to her since 2017.
Highlights of her orchestral experience include being invited to play with The Manchester Camerata as part of their professional experience scheme and playing in Leeds Town Hall as part of Nicola Benedetti's Four Seasons Tour. She played again with Benedetti in a string orchestra under Leonard Elschenbroich, which was featured on Classic FM in 2019.
Always eager to combine her love of the arts with her music making, in 2019 Rosie created the film and musical score 'Lines'. She has recently composed a piece written for solo cello in collaboration with Colin Blundell, which she recently premiered at the Belfry Centre for Music and Art in 2020.

Rosie is a fantastic teacher. As well as being endlessly patient and supportive she can always suggest multiple ways to overcome problems when I get stuck. I would highly recommend Rosie to anyone learning Cello at any level!
