About James

Hi there, I'm JD, an IELTS tutor from Oxford in the UK. I spent more than 15 years working in Ankara and Istanbul in Türkiye and have helped thousands of students reach the IELTS score they have been dreaming of.
I specialize in improving students' answering ability for higher bands in the IELTS exam. I have been a full-time professional English Tutor for more than 10 years, and have more than 36,000 lessons under my belt. Please feel free to get in contact with me to learn more about my lessons and how we will work together to improve your IELTS speaking score

About the lesson

With more than 10 years of professional IELTS experience, and over 36,000 lessons taught, I can help you improve your IELTS speaking level to reach the band you need. I have helped thousands of students go up a whole band in just a few weeks, by improving the way they answer the speaking exam questions, and I can help you to get the IELTS result you need

My lessons are more suited for advanced speakers who are aiming for IELTS band 7 and above

What can I say, James is the absolute best tutor I have ever had. Not only did he help me pass my IELTS exam, he has so much insider knowledge about how to correctly answer each question in the speaking exam, I went from constantly getting 5 or 5.5 to getting 7.5 after 2 months of lessons with him. We still talk every week even though I no longer need to practice for IELTS, because we never get bored of topics to choose from. James has great knowledge of many different industries and is a very interesting person! Highly recommended and definitely the best teacher here.

James is one of the tutors that I find it easy to talk freely even in our first (or second:D) session. He's very friendly and talented. Surprised me when he mentioned the multiple subject matters he has been teaching over the years, such as accounting, cooking, music, economics, etc. Highly recommended!
