About Jessica
I am a Mechanical Engineering student at Hanover College in my senior year and I will graduate in May of 2024. As a student, I appreciate a lot the extra effort teachers/tutors put in to help me individually. It is a quality I have admired and that I portray as a tutor. My approach involves a recap of what the student knows to establish any prerequisites they may need. I have noticed that explaining concepts visually through diagrams, graphs, simulations (especially for subjects such as mathematics or sciences) is very helpful. After concepts then comes applications through participation, where a problem is initially broken down into relatively simple and relevant steps. The lessons I teach are typically middle school to high school level. However, I am also a tutor at my college, Hanover College, and I am able to teach those subjects as well.
