About Dajah

I started learning Spanish as a little girl by watching Dora. I took my first formal Spanish class in 8th grade. Wanna know a secret? I absolutely dreaded the days when my teacher would say, "Alright, class, no English today!" I had no idea how I was supposed to make it through an entire hour of conversation when all I knew how to say was, "¿Dónde está el baño?" (Where is the bathroom?) Even though I had no clue how to say what I needed, I learned a valuable lesson: Asking questions is the start of learning everything you need to know. My teacher never expected us to wake up fluent one day; she taught us how to advocate for our education and be okay with admitting that we didn't know something. As long as we asked, "¿Cómo se dice...?" (How do you say...?) We knew we had unlocked the key to a treasure chest of opportunities. My passion is helping students like you obtain the key to opening that same treasure chest.

About the lesson

I get it; learning Spanish is hard, and I promise I won't try to convince you to love it. Not too many years ago, I was exactly where you are right now, questioning how exactly I was going to make it through with all of these vocabulary words and conjugations (and don't even get me started on how hard it can be to understand all the different dialects—I still struggle with that!). As your tutor, I pay close attention to your needs. My ultimate goal is to make learning Spanish as easy as possible while helping you gain the confidence to succeed (confidence is more than half the battle!) We'll watch videos, look at charts, and even create our own methods for remembering the formulas to create a sentence. At the end of it all, we will have laughed a lot and learned even more!
