About Tony
Hi! I’m a Beijing native who’s lived in the US for five years, and I’m here to make learning Mandarin feel less like a chore and more like a conversation. My approach is all about immersion—I love sharing stories about Chinese history and cuisine to give you the real context behind the words. We’ll skip the boring drills and focus on real-world practice so you can start speaking with confidence from day one!

My approach focuses on student-centered immersion, prioritizing practical conversation over rote memorization. I utilize task-based learning to get you speaking immediately, using techniques like scaffolded feedback to perfect your tones and integrating cultural context to make the language come alive. A typical 60-minute session includes a casual Mandarin warm-up, a quick review of past goals via Quizlet, a focused introduction of new concepts, and interactive role-play to ensure real-world application. What sets me apart is my dynamic flexibility; I adapt every lesson to your pace, acting as a supportive partner rather than a rigid lecturer. These lessons are designed for all levels, ranging from beginners mastering Pinyin to students prepping for HSK Exams and professionals seeking business etiquette and industry-specific terminology.
