About Hope
I am a special education and elementary education undergrad with 6 years of tutoring experience. I have taken courses in reading and literacy interventions and childhood development. I have spent 3 semesters working as a teacher's assistant working with students ranging from the ages of 3rd grade to 10th grade.

I want to get to know how your student! My teaching method is student-based instruction meaning I create lessons that will be best suited for the individual student I am working with, attempting to meet all their needs. For literacy, I focus on the five pillars of literacy - Vocabulary, Phonological Awareness, Phonological Skill, Word Recognition, Fluency, and Comprehension. I believe by strengthening these pillars a student's overall literacy will increase creating balanced literacy.
