About John
I financed a graduate level college education with money from the G.I. Bill and with student loans (which I have paid back), during which I was also a half-time medical typist. I learned the advantages of regular aerobic/cardiovascular exercise (running swimming skating bicycling miles) for stress-relief. I contribute to poetry readings online and at coffee houses, have poems under "jack mellender" on YouTube.

This is for High School level English and reading students. I can give lessons in grammar, punctuation, composition. I can edit students' writing for grammatical correctness. I know about poetic figurations. I am familiar with English Romantic Poets, and with many American poets as well. I keep writing poems, (mostly lyrical ones).
