About Joel
I am a third-year Electrical and Electronic Engineering student at the University of Nottingham with a passion for teaching Physics using contemporary methods. I achieved an A star in IGCSE Physics and an A in A-Level Physics, and was awarded Best Graduating Student in Physics back-to-back in both Secondary School and Sixth Form. As Head Boy in Sixth Form, I developed strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills, which I now apply to tutoring by motivating students and creating structured learning environments. Experienced in private and voluntary tutoring, I explain complex concepts clearly, adapt lessons to each student’s learning style, and focus on building confidence through exam preparation. Outside academics, I play basketball and am an active member of the Electrical Engineering Society, reflecting my teamwork, discipline, and commitment to continuous learning

My lessons are designed to make Physics clear, engaging, and confidence-building. As a third-year Electrical and Electronic Engineering student at the University of Nottingham, I achieved an A star in IGCSE Physics and an A in A-Level Physics, and was awarded Best Graduating Student in Physics back-to-back in both Secondary School and Sixth Form. I adapt lessons to each student’s learning style, explain complex concepts simply, and focus on exam preparation strategies. Lessons are aimed at secondary and sixth form students preparing for GCSEs, A-Levels, or 11 Plus exams, with a supportive approach that combines patience, communication, and encouragement to help students excel academically and enjoy learning.

I’ve known Joel for quite a number of years now. He is amazing at Physics and I would highly recommend him as a tutor. He knows how to break the subject down right to the very fundamentals. If you want to ace any Physics exam, Joel is your guy.
Joel is a skilled physics tutor with a real gift for making difficult concepts fun and accessible. He has a knack for tying explanations back to his students' own hobbies and interests, which makes even tricky topics click.
I’ve had the pleasure of learning from Joel, and I can confidently say he’s one of the most dedicated and knowledgeable physics tutors I’ve come across. He has a real talent for breaking down difficult concepts into simple, easy-to-understand explanations, making even the most challenging topics feel manageable. He’s patient, encouraging, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure his students truly understand the material rather than just memorising it. His professionalism, reliability, and genuine passion for teaching create a positive learning environment that builds both confidence and academic success. I highly recommend Joel to anyone looking for a physics tutor who is not only exceptionally skilled but also genuinely invested in helping students reach their full potential.
