About Petah
I learned to play the violin by ear, listening to Dad play his fender guitar in rock bands, and started singing and writing folk and indie songs in my teens. I then went on to study music theatre and dance in Brisbane, which led to being accepted into the Conservatorium of music where I began my undergrad in classical voice. I went on to perform in Italy and Denmark and am currently recording for Stradivarius Milano. Before being accepted to the Consevatorium of music I didn’t have formal music training so I know, no matter what you’re background, if you really want it anyone can learn to sing.

I’ve been teaching since I was 16 years old and I love it. I teach a range of styles from Folk to Pop to Jazz to Classical voice and Opera and I have performance experience in all of the styles I teach. I have a technical knowledge of vocal pedagogy and Feldenkrais movement technique, but I am not one to get bogged down in the details. You do the singing and I’ll share with you the skills that will most improve your work. I teach from beginner to advanced and I believe if you want to, anyone can learn to sing.
