About Christiaan
At 18, I was still clueless. No one taught me and I was very frustrated. I thought I was ugly. I had grown up isolated in a village. So, I moved to a big city, and started trying, making dozens of mistakes, observing other guys who did have a dating life, reading tons of theory online (most of it was either wrong or lacked context) and facing my greatest fear: rejection. I also had to overcome my dependency on adult videos, which had got in the way of my dating life. This process took me 3 long, difficult years. Then, I finally started to become moderately successful. My life was now worth living. Because, as a man, if your dating life is not satisfactory, or you are an involuntary celibate, then you will be depressed. I completely reinvented myself as a man. I even changed the fundamentals of my person. And it hurts, when you are both the statue and the sculptor. But necessary. And now, I have learned that I have to stay in this process forever. Dating is connected to all the other processes in your life: sports, work, hobbies, social, family... Everything. Let me share with you what I have learned on this journey! Hi there, I’m Chris, and I am a dating & relationship coach for straight men. My personal journey has been long, difficult and fruitful. When I was 18, I knew zero about dating and relationships. Now, more than 10 years later, I am wiser and more experienced than all the people I know and have known. My male friends tell me how their dating and relationships are going and I almost always want to roll my eyes. How do they not see the obvious mistakes that they are making? Throughout the last decade, I have not only studied a lot of theory, but also applied and tested that theory. My heart was broken many times, but the lessons I learned, and more importantly, the numerous beautiful memories I made, have made it all worth it. I don’t regret a thing, and I want to tell you: the biggest mistake you can make in your male dating life is not taking action. It is better to make mistakes than to do nothing or be passive. Action always beats inaction. Having said that, dating, relationships and love for a man are not easy. As the Roman poet Ovid said: Every lover serves as a soldier. What he meant is that there are times that love feels like war, and you need to be strong and know what you are doing. You have to know what you are doing as a man. As the popular saying goes: If you don’t know what’s on the menu, it’s probably you. If you don’t know who’s winning, it isn’t you. You have to understand the Game. As a male dating and relationship coach, I believe in techniques, but I also believe in principles. As a student who started studying English from zero, I recommend Christiaan language lessons because of three main reasons. First, his classes integrate writing, speaking, and reading, so that you develop the three skills at the same time. Second, he plans the lessons based on your abilities and the difficulties you might encounter when learning. This means that each lesson is personalised. Third, Christiaan wants you to have fun during the lessons, which means he will choose topics of your interest to practice. In this way, you learn the vocabulary you need to express yourself while enjoying the material content. Highly recommended!
Christiaan is an excellent language teacher who really puts in the time and effort to understand how you (as a student) learn things effectively. He takes a hybrid approach to teaching to ensure that you can meet your goals (e.g. to get a certification) as well as giving you the grounding in the language so that you can use the language out in the country you're learning for, helping you to build confidence, as well as your lexicon.
Really, the results speak for themselves. I was able to make much faster progress in my own studies than I had been able to do by studying on my own, or attending larger classroom classes.I would highly recommend Christaan as a language teacher. He is very patient and fun to speak with, which makes the lessons enjoyable. He uses a mix of teaching methods, including reading texts, grammar, and speaking so that you are able to practice multiple skills and do not become bored or frustrated. I very much enjoy our lessons and would recommend him highly to other language learned, regardless of their language level.
Christiaan clearly loves teaching! He always explains grammar in an easy to understand way, yet he can also give a deeper explanation if I ask him about it. I really like that, since I like to understand things thoroughly. I also find the manner in which we practice pronunciation very helpful.
