About Ana
We've all been in a classroom where you copy down what the teacher says and repeat after them.
My classes won't be that. No one likes repeating verb conjugations. Especially me.
I believe that learning must be applicable to your life and it must be memorable! The best way we remember things is if we enjoy them. Tell me what your likes and interests are, and I will plan accordingly!
Learning shouldn't be a drag. It should be enjoyable and something that resonates with you for life. That's ultimately my goal with each lesson.

Hey!
My name is Ana. I'm a trilingual certified French and English teacher. I also speak Croatian, because my family is from Croatia and I grew up speaking the language.
I have a French and English teaching degree from the University of Toronto.
I've been teaching since I was in high school. It started with swimming and water polo, and have been teaching the fundamentals of swimming for 10+ years.
When I graduated from university, I taught English abroad in France while playing professional water polo. Then, I taught English and French at a school board in Toronto, where I taught both in person and online due to the pandemic.
Throughout the years, I've been tutoring privately, ranging from beginner English and French, all the way to adult conversational level, and even at the International Baccalaureat level. Currently, I'm still teaching water polo, but at the D2 college level.
A little bit about my personality:
I'm very flexible and I can adapt easily to change. Being an athlete has taught me all about that! In terms of teaching and planning my lessons, it all depends on what your goals are.
In my experience learning and teaching languages, I believe the best way to learn is to speak out loud and practice in conversation. This was the best and most efficient way I learned, so my lessons will definitely help you gain that confidence in speaking!
What sets me apart is my enthusiasm, my ability to think outside the box, and my excitement to try bold things. Above all, I'm a team player. Learning a new thing can be kind of scary, but together, I believe we can learn and achieve great things.
I'm excited to start our learning journey together!
