About James
Hello! I am an experienced educator based in London, with over 19 years of experience supporting students to develop confidence, understanding and strong academic skills. My work began in the classroom and has since taken me across the UK and internationally, working with students from a wide range of backgrounds. Throughout my career, my priority has always been to help learners feel supported, capable and motivated. I am CELTA qualified and hold a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from University College London (UCL). Alongside my teaching, I have worked extensively with the International Baccalaureate (IB), including as a trained consultant and member of the IB Educator Network (IBEN). This has given me deep insight into subjects such as English, Humanities and Theory of Knowledge, and a clear understanding of what students need to succeed. As a tutor, I offer a calm, patient and personalised approach. I take time to understand each student’s needs and tailor lessons accordingly, explaining concepts clearly and building confidence step by step. My aim is not only to support academic progress, but also to help students become independent, thoughtful learners. I understand that choosing a tutor is an important decision for both students and parents. I work with professionalism, care and integrity at all times. I am fully DBS compliant.
