About Ethan

I am a passionate and dedicated tutor with experience working with elementary school students, particularly in reading, literacy, and mathematics. My goal is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel confident and motivated to succeed. I use personalized strategies that cater to each student’s unique needs, focusing on building skills while fostering a love for learning. With patience, positivity, and a commitment to their progress, I aim to help students achieve their goals and grow academically.

About the lesson

As a tutor, I focus on creating a supportive and engaging environment tailored to each student’s needs. I use scaffolded learning, modeling, and guided practice to build understanding and confidence. For elementary students, I make learning fun with hands-on activities and relatable examples, always celebrating their progress to keep them motivated. I start with a quick review to reinforce previous material, introduce new concepts with clear examples, and guide students through practice before encouraging independent work. For reading, I include phonics, vocabulary, and comprehension activities suited to their level and goals. My experience with CUNY Reading Corps has given me specialized training in literacy techniques and the ability to connect with young learners. I adapt to different learning styles, creating a positive, patient, and engaging experience. My lessons are for elementary school students, especially those needing support in reading or foundational skills. I work to help them succeed academically while fostering a love of learning.
