About Rhonda
I love reading and writing, but I enjoy discussing literature and helping students find their writerly voices even more. I use a discussion-based method that meets students at their level, and I help them to develop the critical reading skills needed in upper year secondary and early post-secondary English classes. I value student input highly, and I work to ensure that students feel comfortable expressing their ideas about the required texts they need to master to ensure success in their studies.

I have five years experience teaching first-year English classes at a U15 university, and I have three years teaching high school English in Canada. While I offer reading help to elementary students, my expertise is with grade 11, 12 and first-year university students.
I prefer a discussion-based tutoring session that tailors my expertise to meet your needs. An English tutoring session will consist of us discussing the literature required for your class to help prepare you for that class or to help review key themes or takeaways that will aid with assessment.
For essay writing, I believe it is best if you can write about what interests you regarding your chosen text. I can help you build on your ideas to formulate strong thesis statements that will help guide the writing process. I also provide assistance with organising your argument, and editing your ideas to ensure clear, concise, and cohesive academic writing.
