About Safiya

Hi! I’m Safiya, a university student who loves working with children and helping them feel confident in themselves and their abilities. I’ve always enjoyed English, especially creative writing, storytelling, and finding fun ways to express ideas.

I have experience working with kids through tutoring, volunteering, and youth programs, and I’ve learned that every child learns differently. I’m patient, encouraging, and always willing to find a new way to explain something until it clicks!

Because I’m a young tutor myself, I can relate to students and understand that schoolwork can sometimes feel overwhelming or boring. I want my sessions to feel less like another class and more like a fun, comfortable space where students can learn, ask questions, and be themselves.

Outside of school and tutoring, I love dance, writing, animals, and learning random fun facts (especially about sharks!). I’m excited to help students become stronger, more confident readers and writers while hopefully making English one of their favorite subjects!

About the lesson

Learning English doesn’t have to feel boring, stressful, or like a chore! As a young tutor, I’m able to connect with students on a more personal level because I understand what it’s like to be their age, struggle with certain concepts, and feel frustrated when something just doesn’t click.

My goal is to make every tutoring session as fun, comfortable, and engaging as possible while still helping students build strong English skills. Whether they need help with reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, essays, or simply gaining confidence, I’ll work at their pace and find ways to make learning enjoyable.

I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and expressing themselves without feeling judged. My hope is that they leave each session not only feeling more confident in English, but also genuinely enjoying it a little more than they did before!
