Hello! I’m Abigail, an experienced English and Writing tutor with a strong background in both education and higher-education admissions. I was trained and mentored as an English tutor during college, where I discovered how much I love helping students find clarity and confidence in their writing. Since then, I’ve spent four years tutoring English and writing, followed by five years working in university admissions, where I reviewed and advised on countless essays and personal statements. This combination of formal training, teaching experience, and admissions insight allows me to guide students not just in improving their writing skills, but in understanding why their words matter. My lessons are structured yet flexible—built around encouragement, practical feedback, and individualized learning. About the lesson

My name is Abigail, and I help students build lasting confidence in their writing, reading, and communication skills. As both an English tutor and experienced editor, I believe that strong writing comes from understanding—not memorization. My approach combines structure, clarity, and creativity so that every student learns to express ideas with precision and personality.

I focus on breaking complex ideas—like essay structure, grammar, and argument flow—into simple, actionable steps. I use real examples from literature, academic essays, and even your own writing to demonstrate technique. You’ll receive personalized feedback after every session, along with targeted exercises to strengthen weak areas and reinforce progress.

I’ve guided hundreds of students through essays, personal statements, and research projects with calm, patient instruction. My background in higher education admissions also gives me unique insight into what makes writing stand out—whether for class, college applications, or professional communication.

I work with middle school, high school, and college students, as well as adults returning to school or improving professional writing skills.
