About Juan
I hold a B.A. in English from the National University of Colombia, one of the top universities in my home country. Currently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Latin American Studies at Emory, where I also teach Spanish. As a language lover, I am learning Portuguese and honing my German. I understand the dedication and effort required to learn a language.

I plan my classes based on students' motivations, levels, and objectives. My lessons emphasize conversation and active participation, using diverse tools for dynamic learning. I combine authentic materials (movies, TV series, music, news, podcasts) with method books for grammar practice. A typical class includes warm-up games, discussions on practical situations, reading, grammar study, practice, and a review of key takeaways. I have extensive experience teaching in colleges and adult education.
