About Isabella
I am a Western graduate with an Honors Specialization in Genetics and am currently completing my Bachelor of Education, specializing in teaching students in grades 4-10. I have over 5 years of experience volunteering in classrooms with students in Grades 1-8 and 6 years of experience working with children in a camp setting, including special needs children. These experiences have helped me develop strong communication, leadership, and teaching skills while working with students of different ages and needs. I am passionate about science and education and I truly enjoy helping students learn and gain confidence in their abilities. I strive to create a welcoming and supportive environment where students feel comfortable to be themselves and work at their own pace.

I teach through individualized lessons that are geared towards each student's learning style, goals, and level of understanding. I believe that students learn best from being able to ask questions and be an active participant in their learning. I would use clear explanations with a variety of examples and practice questions to make the information digestible and help solidify knowledge.
A typical lesson would be focusing on areas of struggle, while continuing to build on what they already know. I am adaptable and organized and will work with each student to create a plan that works for them.
I am passionate about making learning engaging and helping students build confidence in their ability. My goal is not only to help the student grow academically, but also to help develop a genuine interest and passion for science.
