About Alf
I am a physicist by training (PhD - Nuclear Physics, 1989). I worked as a scientist in project management and production management in industry. For the last 20 years I worked in fixed income asset management. Throughout my career I have developed and used mathematical models, which is one of my passions. Another is explaining physics and math concepts to those who are keen to understand these things.

I like to work around examples and problems, as these are the best way to develop understanding. You will learn how to approach and solve problems without an over-emphasis on remembering facts and formulae. I like to explain concepts in everyday language, either face-to-face in online-video conferencing, or in electronic chat-style communication. We work at your speed; education is not a race!
