About Belinda
My experience is working with elementary school students, but I have also taught 6th and 7th-grade middle school. It is imperative that students who are struggling master these skills before moving forward. If they don't they will fall further behind academically and become Thediscouraged.

The first thing to do is to assess student's ability to see if they are on grade level. Once this is determined, there needs to be a plan to help them catch up while continuing to work on classroom assignments. The team of parent, teacher, student and tutor have to work together to assure the student's success.

Details
For younger children, I don't recommend more than at least one hour a day for three days a week.
Students usually work better one on one or in small groups of two or three. Each child pays the same rate. My policy is I require a 24-hour cancellation notification and one-half of the tutoring rate. If an emergency arises, we can make arrangements to tutor on an alternative day.
