MY EDUCATIONAL JOURNEY
“ASSOCIATES TO DOCTORATE DEGREES”
GOAL ACHIEVEMENT: “I FINISHED WHAT I STARTED”
My educational journey started when I was enrolled in a private college seeking a math degree; however, after being tested, I was placed in the accounting track. Challenge #1: My first exposure to stocks & bonds with a dogmatic and misogynistic professor. At our first tutoring session, he “Stood up and Slammed his fist and shouted, “YOU WILL NEVER LEARN ACCOUNTING.” Solution #1: Changed college and got a great teacher, earning a 3.4 grade point average.
Subsequently, I earned (2) Associates degrees in Accounting & Computer Programming, a Bachelors: Accounting (Federal: DFAS & HUD & State (12 years: NYS & FL appointments), a Masters: Public Administration (6 years: Children & Family Services) and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership: Seminole State & Valencia Colleges.
As a professor of 10+ years teaching College & Student Success for 2 of the largest colleges in Central Florida, I taught my students Solutions to “Level the Playing Field” because “Anyone can Learn Anything given the Appropriate Application to achieve your educational goals to “FINISH WHAT YOU STARTED”!
TOOLS FOR SUCCESS:
Learn Latin as 70-80% of the English language is Latin Roots.
Take a Logics course for Mathematics & Humanities courses.
Purchase a Study-Guide for the Technically Comprehensive courses.
STUDYING FOR SUCCESS:
Study for 2 hours of concentration & relax the brain for 2 hours; after 3 hours the ability to learn and memorize information and write APA Formal writing significantly decreases.
Get a Study-buddy to review homework & testing material.
Take at least one course each semester especially in the summer!
