About Helena
Since 2011 I have experience as a music teacher, giving lessons in different countries (Spain, France or The Netherlands) to all ages and levels, in schools like Nord Anglia International School Rotterdam, International School of Utrecht, School of Music Rotterdam, etc. The goal with my students, always from an adaptive and flexible point of view, is that they understand music better, that they improve as performers and that they have tools to know how to approach the different musical works. As a very experienced musician and music teacher, I want to help you to understand the music through your instrument and what you do. There is always space for improving and that is where I believe I can be a part of your music life.
For those who are starting, no matter what your age or your level is, I will be there to accompany you from the beginning and guiding you in the process of learning this amazing instrument which is the accordion.
I teach to all levels.
Lessons are possible in Spanish (my mother tongue), English, French and also some Dutch.
Please attention: times available only between 8am EST - 3pm EST.

Perfect! Helena is very friendly and encouraging! She was very patient with me in teaching me better finger placement and techniques. I like that I was able to show her the kind of music I want to play on accordion and she is able to structure lessons to help me learn how to play that style. Awesome teacher and I highly recommend her!
Perfect! Helena is extremely knowledgeable about the accordion and everything music. She is very user friendly and really accommodates where you are, which in my case is zero knowledge of music. She is patient, professional and encouraging. I love that she started out with the basics of reading music. Great teacher!

Perfect! I have found Helena to be an absolute delight. Going into the lessons, I was incredibly nervous because it had been years since I last played an instrument, and the accordion was one of the most daunting instruments I knew of. However, Helena was extraordinarily patient and guided me to better understand my goals and what I should look for in an accordion. Moreover, Helena was exceptionally welcoming and cheerful, which came as a pleasant surprise from the formalities I had expected going into the lessons.

I've only had one lesson with Ms.Helena Sousa Estévez, and I am already impressed with her teaching skills. I found her using Superprof.
Before our first lesson, she reached out to inquire about what music I would prefer to play on the accordion. She was prompt in "showing" up on time online, and she asked relevant questions and was a good listener. After the lesson, she sent some exercises for me to practice.
