About Hua
My main expertise is in the areas of language teaching and tutoring, but I also have extensive knowledge in students' academic coping and strategy training. The combination of strategy training in students' language learning has enabled many of my former students to learn efficiently and effectively.
I always combine culture learning as part of language teaching. Feedback from my former students testifies that the introduction of culture motivated them to learn the target language better as their interest grew.
I am an effective communicator, who is extremely sensitive to students' emotional needs. As a people person, I always go out of my way to understand my students and am able to help students stay positive when difficulties arise. Students treat me both as their friend and mentor. Nothing gives me more pleasure than seeing my students become resilient learners, who can exercise personal controls over their own learning after learning together with me for a period of time.

I have taught over 1000 students in the past 20 years. I always enjoy sharing the language learning experiences with my students. I am particularly interested in motivating students to learn by understanding them first before using customized methods to maximize their learning. Because I treat each student as a unique individual and believe that they all have the potential to succeed under the right guidance, my students trust me and are willing to discuss with me their academic challenges, and I always try my best to help them succeed through strategies that fit them. Many of my former students continue to remain close to me even after years of their graduation, some of whom have made significant contributions to fields such as education, media, business and culture.
