About Chef Dumebi

I am Chef Dumebi, a London-based chef, food educator and culinary creative with over 15 years of experience in hospitality, recipe development and running multi-brand kitchens. My work blends West African heritage with European technique, and I’m passionate about showing home cooks how flavour, culture and storytelling come together on the plate. Teaching is a natural extension of my culinary journey. Over the years, I’ve trained kitchen teams, mentored young chefs and hosted countless food experiences — and I’ve seen how learning to cook can transform confidence, creativity and even daily life. I love guiding students through that discovery.

About the lesson

I teach with a blend of structure, creativity and cultural storytelling. My classes are designed to help students understand why techniques work, not just follow a recipe. I break concepts down into simple, repeatable steps so you gain real confidence in your own kitchen. Whether we’re exploring West African flavours or mastering classic European methods, I focus on flavour balance, sensory learning and practical skills you can use immediately.
